Santa Paddle 2024

Amid all the Christmas preparations do you want to find time for a paddle?

Then join us for some holiday fun on the water! The club will be open from 10:00 to meet up and get boats ready.

With the recent heavy rains, we’re anticipating the Thames will not be paddleable, so plan to load kayaks on the trailer kindly loaned by Sea Cadets, and drive over to Chalvey to paddle on the Jubilee River, aiming to be on the water at 11:00 am

We’ll paddle upstream to Marsh Weir where we’ll land at the portage point for festive refreshments, including mulled wine/hot chocolate and sausage rolls/mince pies/shortbread. We should hope to be back at the club by 2:00 pm

Dress for the weather on the day – with festive outfits a must! Lights on your boat and seasonal decorations will add to the jollity. Don’t forget a spare change of warm clothing ‘just in case’.

NB – should river conditions make paddling on the Thames possible, we’ll paddle from the Club up to Boveney Lock where we’ll have refreshments before returning.
