PFW Thames PlasticBlitz River Clean

This year to celebrate World Rivers Day – Plastic Free Windsor are participating in a River Clean covering the entire lower catchment of the non-tidal Thames from Maidenhead to Teddington in collaboration with Thames21, the Environment Agency, Thames Landscape Strategy and many other like-minded local organisations along the stretch as part of the event.

Our clean in Windsor will be river based – so if you own a SUP, kayak or other small vessel and are proficient and confident to do so – we would love for you to join us for a couple of hours to help do your bit!

The plan will be to meet/launch from the slip by the Windsor Canoe Club and WBS Boat House (parking at the Windsor Leisure Centre on Stovell Road if you need to drive) and work the area between Boveney and Romney Locks.

In addition to your vessel, and all the other equipment you need for that, we would encourage you to bring:
1. a large bucket/basket if you can to collect plastic and other waste in/on your vessel safely
2. a pair of protective gloves and
3. some hand sanitiser of course!

We will provide litter pickers and sacks to dispose of the waste in.
